Local Food Banks
We talked about local food bank resources that folks in the neighborhood are aware of:
- Bethel Church of the Nazarene is accepting donations for their food bank. They primarily work in our community – with Jere Baxter students and in the recovery community. Pastor Joe will let the neighborhood know more details about how to donate (check back for updates) but they can use the following items:
- Peanut butter
- Jelly
- Crackers
- Canned chili
- Canned chicken & tuna
- Soups
- Ramen Noodles
- Apple juice
- Shelf stable milk
- Cereal
- Canned vegetables
- St.Joseph’s Catholic Church is accepting donations as well. The food pantry is open to all on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Parish Life Center and donations are always welcome! Volunteers are always needed and welcome to assist with organizing and purchasing food, as well as distribution.
If you know of other resources, we’re happy to share them here! And if you’re a neighborhood who is in need of assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected].

- Discuss why preparedness matters specifically for Nashville’s neighborhoods.
- Explore local resources and strategies to promote readiness year-round.
- Engage in an open Q&A with Nashville VOAD representatives to share challenges, successes, and next steps.
- The event will be held virtually on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM via Webex. Meeting Link: https://nashville.webex.com/nashville/j.php?MTID=m76fdd848d59bfcbd8ac699ab7f140d6a
December Neighborhood Outings
We are trying to plan a couple of neighborhood outings to bars or restaurants in December. Keep your eyes and ears open for more information or reach out if you’d like to make a suggestion or help organize an outing!
Neighborhood Stray Update
Not the usual meeting minutes, but worth sharing anyway! The local, black and white neighborhood stray cat has been successfully captured, vetted, and is now being cared for. Thanks to all the neighbors who helped with “Mr.Montgomery” (who I’m sure has other names as well).
