January Meeting Minutes

2026 Events

During the meeting, we discussed 2026 events we’d like to see happen. You can check out our ideas below. But please know we are open to making your ideas happen as well. If there’s an event, volunteer opportunity, or program you’d like to see happen in our neighborhood please fill out this short form or email us. And don’t forget to stay up to date on all the neighborhood happenings on our calendar.

Seed & Seedling Swap: This one will be happening quickly! We are looking at end of January or end of February so be on the lookout for follow up information.

Porchfest: Since Porchfest in October had to be canceled, we will be hosting this in April! We’re leaning toward a Sunday afternoon since many of the neighborhood kids will have Spring sports in full swing on Saturdays. We also discussed expanding beyond just music and opening a yard up to comedy, storytelling, etc.

Spring grill and chill: There was discussion of another grill and chill in the Spring but no details yet on dates.

Spring yard sale: With the success on the fall yard sale, we’ll likely have another date in spring/early summer for a yard sale.

Stories from the stage: A few neighbors talked about doing a neighborhood storytelling series (much like Stories from the Stage). We’d love to gauge interest in this idea and find others who might want to help plan and/or host. Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you’re interested.

Zoning Changes

  • The city has passed or is working on several zoning changes, best summarized in communications from Emily Benedict
  • The only item that directly impacts Gra-Mar is the DADU bill which allows all properties in the USD (including our neighborhood) to build a Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (DADU) by right, if certain criteria are met. This is effective immediately.
  • Other than that, no zoning changes have been made or proposed for Gra-Mar.

Traffic Concerns

  • Many neighbors have brought up concerns about the Broadmoor/Saunders intersection due to numerous accidents and we emailed Emily Benedict to voice those concerns.
  • NDOT is still reviewing the Broadmoor/Saunders intersection and should follow up with her next month with next steps.
  • This will include a decision on a possible traffic circle at Saunders/Broadmoor.

Trash Pickup Services

  • There will be changes to the trash pickup schedule beginning February 2nd.
  • Gra-Mar Acres trash pickup will be moving from Tuesday to Friday (based on what I reviewed for our address on Joyce), but please use the city’s lookup tool to confirm your new collection date.
  • There are also new holiday rules:
    • Holiday on Monday → no change that week.
    • Holiday on Tuesday–Friday → that day’s pickup moves to Monday of the same week.

Rescheduling next meeting to Feb 15th

Since our next neighborhood meeting falls on Superbowl Sunday, we are rescheduling it to Feb. 15th at 5pm.
