December Meeting Minutes

Meeting Held Dec. 8, 2024

Root Nashville Trees
Thomas updated that the trees have been delivered. Dallas and Caitlin are the tree
captains if you have any questions.

Christmas Lights Competition
This year Allison will create a map with those houses that have light displays. She will
provide small gift bags to those that are on the map. Keep your eyes open for updates
on this! Allison will email everyone about it soon.

Concerns About Cars Not Stopping at Stop Signs
There are many concerns about cars not stopping at stop signs in the neighborhood,
especially ones on Broadmoor and on Saunders. Allison has made reports to NUB
Nashville to try to create a history, but nothing is being done. It was suggested that the
stop signs have flashing lights put on them like in other neighborhoods to at least raise
awareness of the sign. Thomas will email our representative, Emily Benedict, and see if
she can work on this issue.

Neighborhood Website
Allison will update it after our meetings. Jeff volunteered to be a 3 rd person that has
access to the website in case Thomas or Allison cannot update as needed.

Neighborhood Facebook Page
Jeannie expressed concerns that people agree to the rules regarding no advertising of
their business on the Facebook page, but people still do it. It was decided it was best to
delete the advertisement and block the person from using the site. If one wants to
advertise their business, they can do this on the Neighborhood Website, not the
Facebook page. Those that want to be approved for the Facebook page will
automatically be put onto the neighborhood email list. Jeannie and Susan will continue
to be the Admins for the Facebook page.

Association Fees
A discussion was had on whether to start up dues again. At this time, Thomas, Annie
and Jeannie are on the bank account at US Bank. Since Annie has moved away,
Thomas will work on getting her off the account and Joyce Ann on the account. It was
suggested that we consider donations to charities with the funds we have – we do make
a small donation for the use of the church, but other than that, all that have worked on
and/or hosted neighborhood events have done so at no cost. In the past dues were $10 per year for those that wished to contribute. It was suggested maybe raise the dues to
$20 per year. We will work on getting the word out about the Association with yard signs
and Meet and Greets in the front yards of our neighbors between meetings – something
like a “pop by” between 2-4 in the afternoon with snacks, etc. Porch Fest worked well
with lots of neighbors attending – it seems that activities where people can come and go work the best.

New Meeting Times!
It seems the first Sunday of the month conflicts with many holidays, so our meetings will
now be the second Sunday of each month.
The next meeting will be January 12, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at Bethel Church – 455
Broadmoor Drive. SEE YOU THERE!!
