Porchfest 2026 (2.0)
We’re getting the final details nailed down for our fall Porchfest aka Porchfest 2026 2.0. It will be on the 17th in the afternoon/evening. We have a few artists and houses lined up but could certainly use more – especially artists! If you are interested in performing, hosting, or helping in any way – just fill out this form. Please keep in mind that this is very relaxed! You don’t have to be a seasoned performer. My kids are even thinking of putting together a song or two.
I’ll share out a flyer with full details in the next few weeks.
Spooktacular Spirit Award
We’re also gearing up for the Annual Spooktacular Spirit Competition! I’ve already seen folks getting ready for the season and decorating their yards for Halloween. Once, you’re all set please join in the fun by submitting your house here. We’ll allow submissions through Oct. 16th with voting from then until Oct. 30. The winner will receive a prize!
If you are a local business owner (or know one) who would like to help out by donating a prize for the award, please reach out to Allison Tinius at 334-791-5656. We’d love to snag a few gift cards, swag, etc!
Neighborhood Trick-or-Treating
We will also be organizing our regular neighborhood trick-or-treating by creating a map or participating houses, so be on the lookout for that in the October newsletter.
Foxes being treated by Walden’s Puddle
Our neighbor, Jenny, near Stanvid/Graycroft is working with Walden’s Puddle to help trap and treat some of our neighborhood foxes who have come down with mange. If you see any around, please reach out to Jenny at 615.419.9685
Fall Yard Sale
At the last neighborhood meeting, there was interest in another neighborhood yard sale the first weekend of November. If you’d be interested in participating, please sign up here. If there’s enough interest, we’ll work on getting it organized!
